J/ψ hadron interaction in vacuum and in QGP

چکیده
Motivated by the recent lattice data that J/ψ will survive up to 1.6Tc, we calculate the thermal width of J/ψ at finite temperature in perturbative QCD. The inputs of the calculation are the parton quarkonium dissociation cross sections at the NLO in QCD, which were previously obtained by Song and Lee, and a gaussian charmonium wave function, whose size were fitted to an estimate by Wong by solving the schrodinger equation for charmonium in a potential extracted from the lattice at finite temperature. We find that the total thermal width above 1.4Tc becomes larger than 100 to 200 MeV, depending on the effective thermal masses of the quark and gluon, which we take it to vary from 600 to 400 MeV.

Ω, J/ψ and ψ′ Production in Nuclear Collisions and Quark Gluon Plasma Hadronization
The transverse mass spectra of Ω, J/ψ and ψ in Pb+Pb collisions at 158 A·GeV are studied within a hydrodynamical model of the quark gluon plasma expansion and hadronization. The model reproduces the existing data with the common hadronization parameters: temperature T = Tc ∼= 170 MeV and average collective transverse velocity vT ∼= 0.2. The possibility of observing the quark gluon plasma (QGP) ...

متن کاملStrangeness and charm signatures in A+A collisions
Two signatures of the quark-gluon plasma – strangeness ‘enhancement’ and J/ψ ‘suppression’ – in nucleus–nucleus collisions are critically discussed. A recently developed statistical coalescence model for J/ψ production is presented. The measurements at the RHIC energies are crucial for disentangling the different scenarios of J/ψ formation. 1. Strangeness “enhancement” ? The idea of strangeness...
متن کاملHow Hard Are the Form Factors in Hadronic Vertices with Heavy Mesons?
The NDΛc and ND ∗Λc form factors are evaluated in a full QCD sum rule calculation. We study the double Borel sum rule for the three point function of one meson one nucleon and one Λc current up to order six in the operator product expansion. The double Borel transform is performed with respect to the nucleon and Λc momenta, and the form factor is evaluated as a function of the momentum Q2 of th...
متن کاملAzimuthal asymmetry of J/ψ suppression in non-central heavy-ion collisions
The azimuthal asymmetry of J/ψ suppression in non-central heavy-ion collisions is studied within a dynamic model of J/ψ suppression in a deconfined partonic medium. Within this model, J/ψ suppression in heavy-ion collisions is caused mainly by the initial state nuclear absorption and dissociation via gluon-J/ψ scattering in deconfined partonic medium. Only the second mechanism gives arise to az...
